Since its inception, the company has striven to deliver unprecedented, inspiring tools and workflow solutions for sound creatives and professionals. I have not even heard of the Production Voices Concert Grand so thank you for the heads up. In the world of music and other audio technology, Steinberg has always pushed the envelope. Never tried the Garritan as initially it didn't support half pedaling (I'm a pedal maniac, mostly making up for my obtuse fingerings). Hardware: Kurzweil PC3K8, Yamaha Modx 6, Access Virus Ti2 desktop, Roland Fantom XR, M-Audio ProFire 610, iPad Pro, HP Omen 17. Also the newer versions are way better than the older ones which did, at least to my ears, sound a bit plastic like. Never lusted so much after a piano From just this early raw demo I think I can tell this one is going to be miles ahead of anything else (for a great sounding Steinway model D).What I have found with PianoTeq is you need to have the pro version and you do need to fiddle a little bit with it as the presets are a bit extreme. Never lusted so much after a piano From just this early raw demo I think I can tell this one is going to be miles ahead of anything else (for a great sounding Steinway model D). Have you heard the production voices concert grand (pre) demo? Newer version make small improvements but still largely the same problems in my opinion. I tried using it a while back for composing and I found the the most uninspirational piano ever.

Very synthetic / empty / wrong tone in my opinion. OPERATING MANUAL DIGITAL/ANALOG PORTABLE RADIO 5100 S ERIES ORTABLE ADIO VHF/UHF/800 MH 25 C ROJECT ONVENTIONAL SMARTNET ® MART 7.2 VDC, 1 and 5 Watts (VHF) 1 and 4 Watts (UHF) 1 and 3 Watts (800 MHz) Part No. Listen on different sound systems, on some it isn't so obvious but on others it's really not ok. (edit: and now the ivory studio grands)īut Pianoteq is just awful in my opinion. I get the Ravenscroft and Ivory American D, and I'd add the Garritan CFX. One HUGE consideration for me, is playability and the ones I've listed have excellent playability as well. I have all the Ivory collection except the uprights. I like the Bluthner and Steinway B along with the Grotrian.ģ. And again, sounds are not a factor in my decision as I'm never going to use them.I have most of top contenders my A List is as follows, and in no particular order as they are all top quality, just different.ġ. Lastly, there's an 800$ price difference between the two, and I'm trying to decide if the touch is indeed different or if it's just a function of how they were set up or some psychological effect, and if both support half damping. Conversly, the RD300NX page does specify that it supports half damping. I was pretty set on the A88, but then I tried the RD300NX and I found its keyboard to be slightly heavier and more fun to play - which is weird, because supposedly it has the exact same mechanism (Ivory Feel G with escapement) as the A88.Īnother issue I'm not sure about is whether the A88 supports half-damping it comes with the DP-10 pedal which does report the continuous pedal position, but nowhere is it specified if the A88 can interpret this and send the correct CC information out the MIDI port.

I use Synthogy Ivory II as the sound engine, so I'm not really looking for a keyboard with sounds. I've been using an RD-150 for the last 10 years or so, but I'm pretty sick of its action and would like to move to a more responsive keyboard.
